Dr. Brahmbhatt can whiten your teeth either in office or with a prescribed take home whitening kit. There are many options available when whitening your teeth, although we recommend having it done under the direction of Dr. Brahmbhatt.
When done in office, the whitening procedure takes about one hour, it’s fast and simple, with less chance of burning your gum tissue. In office whitening uses a very high dose of peroxide, which is why it is done under our watchful eye, and allows the process to be fast. Dr. Brahmbhatt can also prescribe a take home kit to be done in your own time frame. Prescribed kits are still a high dosage of peroxide, though less than if done in office, and you will get the results you are looking for by following the directions in about one week.
Many patients have asked about the effectiveness of store bought whitening kits. Store bought kits can be very effective, but it offers a lower dose of peroxide meaning it takes longer to get the results you want and may have a higher incidence of burning soft tissue because it is not under the guidance of your dentist.
Veneers offer our patients results that seem almost magical, as we can reshape your teeth, close gaps or spaces, restore teeth that are worn or chipped and alter the length of your teeth to be either shorter or longer. Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that are shaded to match your teeth. We place them over any one, or all, of your front eight teeth, giving them a perfectly matched look. Veneers are durable and strong, and in most cases they last our patients several years before needing to be replaced.
We can make simple repairs with composite filling material. Small chips, teeth that have been damaged from decay, gaps and spaces, or front teeth that are uneven, can be altered using composite quartz filling that is bonded to your teeth. Dr. Brahmbhatt is able to use composite resin, which is a blend of quartz and resin, and the material can then be shaped and polished to match the neighboring teeth. This repair is not permanent, or as strong as other restorative procedures, but is durable and has been known to last several years.
