Prosthetics - Fixed and Removable
Dr. Brahmbhatt, along with our team at Our Dentist, can customize both fixed and removable prosthetic devices to replace missing teeth and restore the health of your teeth. The function and aesthetic of your smile is very important, we want to help you feel comfortable. Following an evaluation, Dr. Brahmbhatt will review your options with you and make suggestions based on your situation.
What is a Fixed Prosthetic?
Fixed indicates that the prosthetic devices has been cemented into place, making it non-removable. Fixed dental restorations, are sometimes referred to as indirect restorations, and it includes: dental crowns, bridges or fixed dentures, inlays, onlays, and dental veneers. We use fixed prosthodontics to restore missing teeth, either a single tooth or multiple teeth. The advantage of having fixed prosthodontics is the superior strength they provide the patient when making large dental restorations, and the aesthetics they provide.
Common fixed dental prosthesis include:
What is a removable prosthetic?
A removable dental prosthetic allows a patient to remove the device for cleaning or while they sleep. Removable prosthesis includes removable partial dentures and full dentures that are not retained using dental implants. A patient may choose this option when they do not have adequate bone or healthy teeth to attach a partial denture to, or as a way to reduce costs. Some patients may not want more invasive dental procedures due to health reasons or financial reasons. Using clasps or suction, we can create customized partial dentures and full dentures to fit your needs while considering your health and finances. This option is less comfortable than other fixed retention options, but is more comfortable than missing teeth. Dr. Brahmbhatt will discuss your options with you during your examination.
We want our patients to have the function they need and the look they want. We can replace missing teeth and make the changes necessary to give you the smile you want. Don’t let missing teeth get in your way. Contact Mitesh G. Brahmbhatt, DMD at (413) 217-4455 for an evaluation.
